If you or a loved one have a need for which the entire Parish should be in prayer, please contact the office to have the need added to our Prayer List. We ask that the individual(s) named give consent before names are published in the Bulletin or on the Website. Contact the Parish Office at 799.5870 or at stmcola@ gmail.com.
On several recent occasions, events have occurred that demonstrated the need to get information out to the STM Parish family quickly.
We had no way to rapidly inform all those people who would have wanted to know about two recent deaths, so that many people first learned of these parishioners’ deaths after their funerals; and
We have had occasions when urgent prayer was needed and we had limited ways to share this information rapidly, beyond Newman Club and YACS! List serves.
Many of you who have been part of other churches may have participated in “prayer chains.” These are often set up as telephone trees, and are used to get urgent news out quickly and mobilize people to pray for others.
The St. Thomas More Parish Council would like to set up such a system here. We would like for those of you who are interested in being part of the Prayer Chain to let us know of your interest and how you would prefer to receive notifications.
We anticipate developing a system that will alert parishioners to check the STM blog or call the Parish Office’s voice mail to receive an urgent message.
If you are interested, please call (803.799.5870) or email the Parish Office. You do not have to be a registered member of this Parish to participate.
It goes without saying, but we’ll say it again: STM will not share your personal contact information to other groups. Please speak to any member of the Parish Council or contact the Parish Office if you have questions about the Prayer Chain.
