Spring 2006
Congratulations to Y-group members and the St.
Thomas More community for raising over $100
for the American Cancer Society through the
Change for Charity program. All of that loose
change sure added up!
February 2006
MEMBERS!
Thank you to all the youth group members that
helped to make our Valentine's Day bake sale such
a success. We raised approximately $120 for St.
Thomas More.
Also, thank you to the parents for contributing
delicious baked goods to our project.
Finally, thank you for your generous donations to
our sale ~ we really appreciate your support.
Thanks for your generosity! The Valentine’s Day
Bake Sale & Craft Corner raised $122.40, which
the Youth Group donated to our Parish.
November 2005 Thank you to our students (especially Katie Burke, Katie McManus, Maria and Anna Ruth Zubizaretta, Will Boette, Carrie Chalfant, and Daniel) and parents (especially Cathy Boette) who made our giftwrapping fundraiser successful. Our gift wrapping event raised over $50 for Pets, Inc., a "no kill" animal shelter located in West Columbia.

Change for Charity
From Carrie & Emily:
his is a shout out to those who want to give money
to St. Thomas More’s Youth Group project,
Change for Charity. Last year we raised hundreds
of dollars for the American Cancer Society.
This year we help raise money to Children’s
Chance. According to www.childrenschance.org,
“Children's Chance raises money to fund a variety
of programs to meet the financial, psychological,
and emotional needs of the pediatric cancer patient
and their families.”
Our change can add up to lots of help for these
families:
- $10 raised helps pay for lunch while a child
receives treatment;
- $25 pays for gas for families traveling long
distances to receive treatment;
- $100 pays for a sick child to participate in
art therapy.
Please bring your change to the next St. Thomas
More Youth Group meeting. Or, during religious
education, you may give your donations to youth
group members Carrie Chalfant or Emily Bogdan.
Please email Carrie Chalfant if you have any
questions, pachalfant@ aol.com.
Youth Group Meeting has been cancelled. Our
next meeting will be over the summer or a
get-together at the beginning of the school year.
